Author Biography

Leena Laine, University of Jyväskylä

Leena Laine is the President of the Finnish Society for Sport History and a Council member of ISHPES (International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport). Since 2002 she has been researching the history of Finnish women’s gymnastics at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. She has published and co-published several books and numerous articles on the history of Finnish sports organisations, worker sports and women’s sports.
